Blue Strongholds – Where Norbert Hofer got the most votes

  The map shows where Norbert Hofer, candidate of the Freedom Party, received the most votes in the first round of the Austrian 2016 presidential elections, on the scale of municipalities. The choropleths indicate his shares of the vote.

  The territories have been re-scaled according to the absolute numbers of votes that Hofer received on 24 April 2016. Consequently, the map represents the number of supporters for Hofer in each municipality rather than the size of its territory.
