austromorph #xmas2016 map – Share of families with three or more children in Austrian municipalities

  This map shows the share of families with three or more resident children by municipalities in 2014. According to Statistics Austria, families are defined as “married couples and consensual unions without or with resident children at all ages as well as lone fathers and mothers”. In total 2,361,043 families were registered in Austria by 31 October 2014. While more than 60% of all Austrian families are families with resident children, just 7% are families with three or more children.

  The territories have been re-sized to represent their respective number of persons eligible to vote. Consequently, the map represents the actual size of each municipality's electorate rather than the size of its territory.
